Vapor Blasting

WHAT IS VAPOR BLASTING?

Commonly known as wet blasting, slurry blasting and liquid honing, vapor blasting is fast becoming the preferred choice for applications requiring the highest quality surface finish.

Vapor blasting outshines dry blasting for three principal reasons:

  • Surface finish is the result of a water-borne abrasive, rather than impact
  • The process creates a smooth, lustrous and reflective finish
  • Mild enough to use on delicate and critical tolerance areas such as pistons, bearing races and sealing surfaces

Just as effective as dry blasting, vapor blasting is less aggressive and results in a super smooth, satiny finish.

WHY OPT FOR VAPOR BLASTING?

If you ask us, vapor blasting is the ideal way to clean and restore classic bike parts andv auto parts safely. This is particularly true for aluminum and brass components. The resulting reflective finish is eye-catching, but also practical as the burnished surface helps repel grease and oil, which preserves the overall look of the parts over time.

PREPARING PARTS FOR VAPOR BLASTING

Before you send your parts to us for vapor blasting, be sure to fully disassemble all components, stripping each of any bearings, seals, bushings, etc. All parts should be cleaned. The cleaner the part, the less expensive the job will be for you. Crunched for time? We can handle all the disassembling and cleaning for you at an additional cost.
